Welcome. We’re really glad you’re here.

If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you’re living with a tight pelvic floor, with symptoms that are hard to explain, hard to diagnose, and even harder to live with.

We want you to know this from the very beginning:

You are going to recover from this — even if it doesn’t feel possible yet.

We know exactly how you feel, because we’ve been there too.

We are a group of female ex-sufferers of chronic pelvic floor tension. We say “ex” carefully — because we still have difficult days, but pain no longer controls our life. We work, travel, laugh, have sex, and show up for ourselves in ways we once thought were impossible. And if you’re in a place right now where that feels very far away, we see you.

Our pain and shared experiences brought us together and inspired us to create this women’s support website. What began as a personal struggle, has now become a mission: to empower other women on their journeys toward understanding and healing. It is a road map shaped by lived experience, as well as advice accumulated through years of deep research, trial and error, physical therapy sessions and psychotherapy.

When we were going through our own struggles, we realized there wasn’t a space where women could easily reach out for advice and guidance—somewhere they could get support while waiting for a doctor’s appointment, which can sometimes take weeks or even months. We provide exactly that: a safe, supportive community where women can share their concerns, get guidance, and feel prepared. And even after the doctor’s appointment, in the recovery phase, which can be a complex period full of psychological ups and downs, we’re here to provide support every step of the way, so that you don’t have to face the stress and worry alone.

This is a safe, honest space for women who are tired of feeling dismissed, confused, isolated, or afraid of their own bodies. A place where we talk openly about pain — but also about healing, nervous system regulation, boundaries, mindset shifts, small practical tools, and the emotional toll this journey takes.

We know that almost everyone with this kind of pelvic floor dysfunction searches silently. We aim to bring reliable information in one place, so you don’t have to navigate endless online searches by yourself. We know how much time and energy this can take from your daily life.

This support group exists to help you feel that someone finally understands. And by “someone,” we don’t just mean the creators of SmilingThorns, but every woman suffering who becomes part of this community—supporting and inspiring other women: You are always welcome to contact us by email, contact form on our website or private message on Instagram at any time. Feel free to ask any questions or share your concerns — we are here to listen, support, and guide you in a safe and respectful space. Also, we encourage everyone to interact with one another on our Instagram page and share tips and insights.

In a nutshell, on SmilingThorns you will find:
• Shared lived experience, not perfection
• Gentle tips and insights that will support your healing
• Education to help you feel more informed and less powerless
• Reminders that progress isn’t linear — and that bad days don’t erase growth
• Community — because this is not something you should carry alone

What you won’t find here:
• Medical advice or diagnoses
• Promises of “quick fixes” or miracle cures
• Shame, pressure, or toxic positivity

This space does not replace professional care — but it does exist to support you emotionally, mentally, and humanly through something that medicine often struggles to hold compassionately.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or scared of your future, let this be your reminder: Your body is not failing you - it is experiencing a temporary disruption in balance.

We’re so glad you found your way here.
Stay. Read. Breathe.

Everything’s going to be okay.
